Equipment
for Sale Year end 2010
Guilin Rowing Club,
who have for the past 3 years been conducting organised
touring rows on the Li River, in Southwest China (see: Guilin
Adventure)
have unfortunately been forced to abandon this venture.
The river at Guilin
has very heavy tourist traffic as it is a great Sightseeing
area and the restrictions placed on use of boats
other than commercial fare paying passengers have proven
to be too frustrating for those conducting the rowing tours.
As a result, the venture
has been discontinued - and the equipment is up for sale.
I feel this would be
a great opportunity for someone to conduct a
similar organised rowing tour but in another place.
Places in Australia that come to mind are Murray River;
several of the Northern NSW Rivers etc. Or they would be
great basic boats for any club

In
1987 Ted Hale was inducted into the 'Sporting Hall of Fame'
in Tasmania.......
"Ted
Hale is recognised as one of Australia's greatest rowers.
Hale became a household name with his dominance of senior
sculling in the late 1970's and early 1980's. Ted's frustrating
early years in which success at national championships eluded
him by short margins came to an end when, showing great character
and perserverence, he won the President's Cup (the Australian
championship for single sculls) in 1976. He went on to win
the Cup again in 1977, 78, 79, 80 and 1981. In addition, Ted
has won numerous State and Interstate sculling championships
- he has won the Tasmanian Single Sculling championships on
eight occasions, 1971, 72, 73, 74, 75, 1983 and 1984. In a
career spanning 20 odd years, 1976 was undoubtedly his best
year when he won his first Australian sculling championship,
the double sculls and quad sculls, the New Zealand title,
the prestigious Diamond Sculls in England, and was selected
to compete in the Montreal Olympics." (Tasmanian Rowing
Council, 1987)

Hale Rowing - Ted Hale Racing Boats
Ted Hale focuses his attention on using the most advanced
levels of technology available to improve boat dynamics so
that his boats will continue to remain competitive amongst
the highest levels of racing competition. Ted Hale thinks
'outside the square' and continually questions the direction
of rowing trends such as the use of boat materials, hull shapes
and rigging systems. Ted Hale Rowing offers Racing Boats that
are built to last and are extremely fast. If you are serious
about improving your ranked position in your particular rowing
field than it could be time to get yourself into one of his
boats (before your competitor does!!!).
